The Job
Our client, a leading Irish non-life insurance company, seeks a seasoned Commercial Underwriter to join their dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Performance: Drive underwriting profitability by managing key performance indicators, conducting financial analysis, and developing strategic plans.
- Portfolio Management: Oversee the broker channel, including account management, underwriting governance, and control of commercial business.
- Business Development: Identify and secure mid to large-scale commercial insurance opportunities to meet revenue targets.
- Underwriting Excellence: Maintain underwriting standards, support business initiatives, and provide expert guidance to trading teams.
- Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Innovation: Identify opportunities to enhance underwriting processes, product offerings, and customer experience.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and deliver exceptional results.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ commercial underwriting experience within the insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of Property, Casualty, and Commercial Auto insurance products.
- Proven ability to analyze complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting, rating, and acceptance criteria.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- CIP qualification essential, with additional qualifications (MDI/ACII) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
