Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a well-established leader in mechanical, electrical, and maintenance contracting, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Dublin.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile 3rd-level college project, managing all commercial aspects from initial budgeting to final account closure. This role combines office and on-site responsibilities and is ideal for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to make a substantial impact in a forward-thinking company.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Budgeting & Financial Management: Set initial budgets from tender documents and track monthly costs against targets.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with both internal and external stakeholders on commercial project aspects to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Claims & Contracts Management: Prepare, submit, and secure certification on payment claims; handle contract adjustments and maintain high standards in financial records.
  • Subcontractor Certification: Oversee subcontractor certifications and maintain control accounts for each.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor commercial performance, cash flow, and forecasting to completion; report monthly to directors and project Contracts Manager.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess commercial risks, ensuring that potential impacts are managed effectively.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) with 3+ years of experience in a quantity surveying role, ideally with mechanical contractors.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical installations and M&E components.
  • Skills & Competencies: Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Team-Oriented: Self-motivated and proactive, with a collaborative spirit and a methodical approach to record-keeping and documentation.
