Our client constructs, acquires, manages and operates infrastructure that is at the very heart of today’s internet. Having secured their position as a leading, innovative, carrier-neutral transport provider for the Atlantic, they have commenced a strategic global expansion via an investment in EMIC-1, Europe Middle East, Indian Connect. They are now looking for a NOC Engineer - Tier 1 to join their international team. Reporting to a senior NOC engineer the NOC Engineer - Tier 1 will form part of their NOC Team who will provide 24x7 Global Customer services & Technical Support services across their Subsea and international terrestrial networks. Real time monitoring and management of our services, sites, networks and facilities to ensure customer service SLA’s and targets are met and exceeded.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Monitoring and management of all network and system alarms within the NOC shift team working 12 hour shift patterns covering 365 day x 24 hour.
• Ensure Incident tickets are raised in a timely and professional manner
• Carry out technical troubleshooting and diagnostics as necessary and provide efficient customer communications during live incident operations.
• Monitor all site and environmental alarms across our Cable Landing Stations (CLS) and manage the suppliers to ensure all events are managed quickly and effectively.
• Help to document and enhance the processes, tools and systems which will deliver optimum operational experience for customers and suppliers.
• Manage escalations (Subsea and terrestrial),’trouble to resolve’ process including field technicians. Ensuring all KPIs and SLAs are met for service and network availability.
Skills and Experience
• Degree or equivalent in Technology, Engineering, Information Technology or similar
• At least 2-5 years technical network operational in a NOC or Technical support environment.
• Knowledge of Ciena 6500 product a distinct advantage
• Some IP, Optical Transmission, Security, Firewall skills are desirable.
• Strong ITIL background throughout Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration
• NOC tools and systems experience across ticketing, Incident, inventory, NMS, MCP, Change and Configuration platforms.
• Knowledge of Service Now ticketing system
• Flexible working shifts and weekends.
